Coasty Blues Sanctuary

We often refer to the concept of home as a ‘refuge’, without necessarily considering how we could create this feeling in our own space. Hence, that it is important to us to listen to our clients’ preferred design intuition to enable us to create a space where their physiology feels most peaceful, a place where they can come and just be. We believe that if we can create that feeling of escape at home, it will help our owners feel lifted and recharged at home.

Jimmy and Janis loved the sound of the sea, the sight of the palm trees and would love their interior coastal as it helps them to feel disconnected in this buzzling city we lived in. They love to travel to Bali to unwind themselves. They also shared a unique chemistry, both of them adored the Japanese beverage culture, one for tea and the other for sake.

As a warm welcome back to their private sanctuary, we intentionally used white pebble stones with grey textured stone tiles, replicating the white sands on the beach with stone pavement. With their unit located near the lift and the main flow of wind coming through the front door, we designed a movable divider at the entrance for the clients to adjust as they like. Once they are back home, they will be greeted with their favourite collection of sake/ tea cups.
To ensure the harmony of the space, we carefully curate furniture, fittings and décor in natural materials such as white washed wood and rattan to create that calmness throughout the whole space in the living room and dining room.

To create an interesting kitchen with this long kitchen layout, we installed a long shelving to add details to draw your eyes to the back of the kitchen. We also used white subtle marble quartz counter and backsplash and glass open cabinet to keep the space open, bright, clean and airy! We then layered the design with a classy seashell knob to contrast the white cabinet to add in little details. The common bathroom was aimed to achieve a classy fun look for daily usage while the master bathroom we want to create a luxury rejuvenating space for occasional recharge.

In the master bedroom, we split the area in 2, with the main resting area and the work/ vanity zone. We added a curve glass feature that acts as a headboard centrepiece yet allowing light to pass through. We also managed to split out the wardrobe area to have a clear segregation of his and her wardrobe space! We also furnished the balcony for a relaxing breakfast nook in the morning!
