A Warm Boathouse

A bright and spacious layout with touches of blue, but we want a feeling of quietness” – these were the key words provided by the owners, Zhan Fan and Wan Chee, to describe their vision for their new home. These ideas inspired a concept of Japandi interior design with a colorful twist of blue, which the owners loved. We incorporated a brighter blue alongside warm wood tones in the communal area to maintain the desired brightness while balancing the space with Japandi elements to create a calming atmosphere.

A free-flowing layout is essential for ensuring a zen space. We thoughtfully placed a round table in the center of the living and dining areas, allowing ample flow around it. The intentional selection of clean-lined dining chairs and a statement fabric lampshade anchoring the dining area provides a clean and organic focal point.

The girls' bedroom and bathroom are also decorated in their favorite colors and theme. As Frozen fans, their bedroom features details of frozen mountains and magical snowflakes, inspiring creativity each day. For their playroom and bathroom, we used their favorite color, pink, to decorate the space. Both rooms showcase furniture from their previous home, repurposed in new ways to fit the fresh concept.
